Favicon is short for “favorite icon”; also know as a shortcut icon. A Favicon is installed on a website and can be seen in a browser’s address bar. If this page is bookmarked or saved as a favorite, the image is saved along with it. The Favicon makes it easier to find the bookmarked page in a list of them. It’s not required to have on a website, but it just adds to the customization of the site. It also makes the site look more authentic.
